specialized services and techniques

We use myofascial release, active release, trigger point therapy, manual traction and effleurage.

Myofascial release and manual therapy

Injury and dysfunction will commonly cause an increase in muscle tension both at the injury site and farther away in compensating muscle groups. We use a variety of manual therapy techniques including myofascial release, active release technique, trigger point therapy, manual traction and effleurage to alleviate tightness, lengthen muscles, and decompress joints.

Exercise plans are customized depending on patient history and circumstances.

Customized goal-oriented exercise plans

We work with each patient to develop  to a strategic exercise plan. The physical therapy and rehabilitation progressions are tailored specifically to the individual patient based on their current fitness levels, future goals and  diagnosis . Our clinicians will take into consideration whether the patient has recently experienced an  injury from work or sport or had surgery (for example a joint replacement, arthroscopic surgery, or spinal fusion).

Range of motion, mobilization exercises, chiropractic adjustment all facilitate recovery.

Joint mobilization and adjustments

Motion anomalies and postural challenges to the musculoskeletal system often cause joints to lock in a limited range causing more pain and  dysfunction. Joint mobilization and adjustments relieve discomfort and free joints to move in a more natural range resulting in better posture, reduced wear and tear and improved results when combined with therapeutic exercises.

Conservative drug-free treatment for low back pain, sciatica, disc issues, arthritis, post-op pain.

Back and neck pain

Whether you are experiencing sharp focal pain in your low back, leg pain and numbness that correlates with low back pain, tight upper back and shoulder muscles or limited neck movement and tension with work or home activities, we can work with you to find solutions and set you on the path to pain relief. Navigating and determining the most effective treatment, whether it be Chiropractic, therapeutic exercise or Shockwave Therapy, is our forte. Using conservative drug-free treatment options for back and neck pain, we are able to help many of our patients presenting with sciatica, disc issues, arthritis and residual post-operative pain find short-term and long-term relief.

Golf, tennis and other sports often result in strained muscles, sprained ligaments, strained joints.

Golf and tennis injuries, performance and injury prevention

These asymmetrical activities often result in strained muscles, sprained ligaments and stressed joints. Through a functional assessment, we can identify imbalances and utilize  therapeutic modalities that counter these stresses and allow for optimal healing and performance.

Youth athletes require special consideration: we aim for return to optimal function safely + quickly

Youth athletics: sports-specific rehabilitation, functional assessment and return to play

Every athlete presents with a unique set of abilities and challenges.  Athletes whose bones, muscles and joints are still developing need special consideration. We evaluate each athlete individually and work together with the athlete and parents with the goal of returning the athlete to optimal function safely and quickly.

Shockwave + magnetotherapy are new means of treating osteoarthritis, plantar fasciitis, tendinopathy

NEW! Shockwave Pulse Activation (EPAT) Therapy and Magnetotransduction (EMTT) Therapy

On the forefront of orthopedic research and pioneered in Switzerland, these two non-invasive forms of therapy are transforming rehabilitation protocols.  Shockwave therapy has been safely used in Europe for decades, but recent technological advances have developed it into an exceptionally effective means of treating acute musculoskeletal pain and chronic conditions including myofascial pain syndrome, plantar fasciitis, tendon attachment disorders and delayed wound healing. Magnetic therapy has been shown to reduce pro-inflammatory cytokines and accelerate cellular activity which promotes faster healing of acute injuries in muscles and tendons, and reduces the symptoms of long-standing wear-and-tear conditions such as osteoarthritis. Improving function results in improving range of motion, mobility and quality of life.

Joint replacement: conditioning and rehabilitation

In order for joint replacements to have an optimal outcome, it is important to strengthen the surrounding muscles as well as the core muscles that compensate for the resulting postural imbalances. We work with patients both before and after their procedures to  tailor their treatment and rehabilitation plans to their specific situation.

The foundation of movement is proper gait that absorbs the body's weight and minimizes stress.

Orthotic casting and fitting

Aberrant walking patterns are a common cause of feet and subsequently knee and hip pain. By performing a gait (walking) assessment, our clinicians can determine what support and care your feet need. We cast and provide custom orthotics that are tailored to your activities and that support your feet where they need it most.
